Ft. Yamhill Project Phasing - “Vision for the Site”
Phase 1 (currently underway estimated completion 6/30/2011)
- Officer Quarters-bay window, porch reconstruction, some interior restoration
- Archaeological study to clear former house site prior to potential relocation
Phase 2a (2-year design/construct program)
- Archaeological work as needed
- Develop interpretive plan
- Construct perimeter fence, gates, styles, sentry box and flagpole
- Design, fabricate and install ghost structures Officer’s Row, Commissary, Guardhouse, Adjutants Office, Mess Hall, Company Quarters
- Tree and vegetation removal as needed
- Design work for Sutler’s Store/Visitor Center
Phase 2b (3-year design/construct program)
- Archaeological work as needed
- Relocate Officer Quarter’s and complete restoration
- Construct Sutler’s Store/Visitor Center and related site work including pedestrian access
- Install interpretive displays and signs
- Reconstruct Blockhouse
- Construct any ghost structures that were not able to happen in Phase 2a
Long Term Improvements
- Design and construct shelters/viewing opportunities for archeological features
- Construct perimeter trail and knoll viewing area
- Construct picnic/educational shelter
- Conduct archeological study of hospital and blacksmith shops and other sites as needed
- Restore fire pond when/if easement is no longer needed
