Milo McIver State Park is located in Clackamas County along the banks of the Clackamas River, near Estacada, Oregon. The park is the home to a maternity colony of Townsend big-eared bats (Corynorhinus townsendii) located in a large picturesque barn situated in an open meadow with a stunning backdrop of Mt. Hood.
Willamette Valley Willamette Mission - "Ghost Structure"
Willamette Mission State Park is a unique cultural landscape that represents the “Eden at the End of the Oregon Trail.” The Willamette Valley, as exemplified by Willamette Mission State Park, represented an area of promise, new beginning, and a brave new experiment in American history. On the National Register of Historic Places, this park is the site of the former Willamette Mission, established in 1834 by Reverend Jason Lee.
Willamette Valley Tryon Creek State Natural Area
Oregon State Parks Trust helped to raise and distribute $50,000 towards the expansion and renovation of the Nature House at Tryon Creek State Natural Area in Portland. For over 25 years, this building has been the center of all education and interpretive programs at the Park.
Willamette Valley Elijah Bristow State Park
Elijah Bristow State Park is located 17 miles southeast of Eugene on the Middle Fork of the Willamette River. The 847-acre park includes grassland meadows, wetlands and white oak groves. Naturalists, from botanists to students, love the park because of the diverse ecosystems. School groups from Dexter, Lowell, Eugene and Springfield use the park for their outdoor educational programs. Each year, close to 80,000 people visit Elijah Bristow State Park.
Willamette Valley Banks-Vernonia State Trail
Hidden in the rolling tree-covered hills, and lying adjacent to a verdant open meadow with a winding stream accenting the setting, lies the Buxton trail head along the 21-mile Banks-Vernonia State Trail.
Willamette Valley Molalla River State Park
Located at the confluence the Willamette and Molalla Rivers, this state park features nature trails, ponds and picnicking opportunities. A local family has placed a memorial bench in this beautiful park in memory of their father.
