Founded in 1995, Oregon State Parks Trust's mission is to preserve and enhance Oregon's outstanding natural, scenic, cultural, historical and recreation sites for the enjoyment of present and future generations. The organization has raised over $6.2 million for state parks projects that range from the restoration of Vista House at Crown Point and the Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum in John Day, to enhancing interpretive exhibits at Collier Memorial State park in Klamath Falls and at Fort Yamhill State Park in Polk County.
The Trust's current priorities include raising funds to update interpretive displays at Champoeg State Heritage Area in preparation for the Oregon Sesquicentennial, establishing the third and final phase of the Willamette River Water Trail, restoring and maintaining the seven publicly-accessible Oregon lighthouses, and developing model sustainable practices for Oregon state parks.
